JD Salinger
I think that some of Salinger's work will be eventually published. If he has over 15 unpublished novels in his house, they are bound to be published. JD Salinger had a huge impact on the literary world with his novel the Catcher in the Rye and he will continue to have that same impact after his death. If anything, his death will make that impact greater because of the unpublished works that were found in his house. Some of those will be eventually published, thus creating a bigger impact. I don't think that his family will become to involved with the press now that he is dead, though. They will respect his wishes. But I do think that they will publish some of his work.

I think you're right Abby. Personally, I don't think people will leave his family alone untill they get answers about the unpublished manuscripts. I wonder whats going to happen with the Catcher in the Rye movie rights.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. He has so many unpublished books in his house. Atleast a few are going to be published. Why would they let all of those books by a great author go to waste? They wouldnt. I am with Maddie on the family thing though. I dont think people will leave them alone. And I also wonder what will happen with the movie rights for The Catcher in the Rye.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think that a new work by Salinger will have a huge impact on the literary world. I think that since his other novel The Catcher in the Rye had such an impact so will other works by Salinger.
ReplyDeleteI agree and would say this, money will ultimately be the motivating factor. Someone, somewhere, sometime will take the initiative to through enough money at this situation to make it happen. If he has a few publishable peices, someone will publish it. It might not be until after his remaining family members all pass, but it will most likely happen and probably in your lifetime.
