JD Salinger = Hermit Crab

I give Salinger props for his humility. He doesnt revel in the glory and thrive off of the press. But i feel as though he is almost embarassed to have written anything. I get that he wants to stay out of the public's eye, but why become a hermit?
I also think that Salinger sees himself in Holden. They have both moved from school to school with out many friends. Salinger also doesnt connect with many people. He rejects them. And i bet that Salinger thinks he is a duck also. But mayne somedays he feels like a fish.
I have a prediction about this book. It says that this book has influenced alot of people. One of the biggest influences that it has had was on the murderer of John Lennon. I think that Holden is gonna kill someone. I dont know who or how, but he will kill someone.

Connection to Catcher in the Rye

I connect with Holden in that he enjoys reading. I too enjoy to read. Holden keeps his love for reading rather secretive though. He claims to be illiterate. I think he keeps in secret because it would ruin his image if people found out that he liked to read. Holden likes to sound tough. I dont really care if people think im stupid for liking to read. Liking to read may make me sound kind of nerdy, but it is who i am.

JD Salinger

I think that some of Salinger's work will be eventually published. If he has over 15 unpublished novels in his house, they are bound to be published. JD Salinger had a huge impact on the literary world with his novel the Catcher in the Rye and he will continue to have that same impact after his death. If anything, his death will make that impact greater because of the unpublished works that were found in his house. Some of those will be eventually published, thus creating a bigger impact. I don't think that his family will become to involved with the press now that he is dead, though. They will respect his wishes. But I do think that they will publish some of his work.
